Summerside Camps staff are fun, enthusiastic, talented, caring people, and provide our campers with the best summer of their lives. There's never a dull moment at Summerside; assist with ceramics camps, cook up something delicious with our Junior Chefs culinary camps, or volley a few balls out on the courts with our tennis camps. We have opportunities for creative, fun, and child-centered staff in all our specialty camps, as well as our day camp program. Bring your best self and help us deliver an unforgettable summer for all our campers.
Our Summerside Day Camp runs for 10 weeks, with exciting and fun-themed weeks, each culminating in a camp-wide event to cap off the fun!
Summerside Specialty Camps are one or two-week experiences and focus on a single area of interest. If you’re interested in joining our team, please complete our interest form (coming soon).

Director of Summer Programs: Amber Carroll
Amber is an experienced social worker and program director, joining SCH from the Dedham Youth Commission in Massachusetts. Amber moved from Maryland to Massachusetts to obtain her master’s degree, and while there discovered her passion for out-of-school time and summer programming, working at the local YMCA. Amber has worked for various non-profit and school agencies, serving as a program director for out-of-school time, summer camp, and pre-college programs. Amber is excited to bring her leadership and creativity to SCH’s summer programs and to work collaboratively to provide experiences that meet the needs of the Summerside Camps and SCH communities.
Summerside Day Camp Director: Matt Bowe
Mr. Matt has been our Day Camp Director since 2020 and loves his time with Summerside Camps. Mr. Matt's love of camp is obvious to anyone who meets him; he loves Summerside and works tirelessly to make every day safe, fun, and unique! From morning "Round Up" to afternoon car line, Mr. Matt brings the energy each and every day, using his experience as a sports camp director, basketball coach, and camp activity specialist to make sure that Summerside is always upbeat and humming along.
Summerside Operations Director: Adrian Elliott
Adrian comes to Summerside with over 8 years of experience in youth programming and education, holding roles in varying capacities. Adrian started his professional career as an OST (out of school time) Lead in North Philadelphia with the City of Philadelphia’s Department of Parks and Recreation. Adrian then served as a site supervisor at A Child’s Place in Valley Forge, PA where he also assisted with before care, after care, and enrichment courses for elementary-aged students. Recently, Adrain was with Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School where he served as an enrollment coordinator, supporting families with enrolling students across the entire Commonwealth.
Summerside Director of After Care: Sarah Damiano
SCH Academy's Director of After Care Programs, Sarah is an experienced educator, program manager, administrator, and artist. Sarah held various roles at Portside Arts Center for many years, most recently as the Education Director, overseeing After School, Summer Camp, and community outreach programs. Sarah attended the Maryland Institute College of Art where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Arts in Teaching. Sarah lives with her husband and almost 2-year-old daughter in the Old Richmond section of Philadelphia and enjoys making art, cooking, spending time outdoors with her family.
