Student Experience

Dining Services

SCH operates two full-service cafeterias and a sustainable café with dining services provided by CulinArt. CulinArt is a leader in private school dining programs, serving esteemed day and boarding schools throughout the country.

Together with CulinArt we share a mutual commitment to a quality food service program that embraces environmental stewardship. CulinArt provides wholesome, nutritious meal preparation and stringent sanitation and food safety programs. They also understand that environmental stewardship is important to the educational development of students. Going beyond simply environmental awareness, CulinArt is a true partner in our school’s sustainability mission.

SCH Academy offers MyPaymentsPlus, an online service that allows parents to prepay into their childs meal account, eliminates the need to send checks to the school or worry about lost or forgotten lunch money, and speeds up serving lines in the cafeterias. Students simply scan their school ID card at checkout.

MyPaymentsPlus allows families to:
  • Create a free, secure account
  • Make a prepayment using a credit card or debit card
  • Check your childs current account balance
  • Monitor the items your child has been purchasing
  • Create settings to receive email notifications when the account reaches a low balance
  • Create settings to automatically replenish your childs account when the account reaches a low balance

SCH Academy is the first school in the state to be named a 3-Star Certified Green Restaurant cafeteria by the Green Restaurant Association, a national nonprofit that helps restaurants to become more environmentally sustainable.
The Green Restaurant Association (GRA) qualifies certification based on accomplishments in the areas of water efficiency, waste reduction, recycling, sustainable durable goods and building materials, sustainable food, energy, reusables and environmentally preferable disposables, and chemical and pollution reduction. “SCH serves as a great environmental model for student food service across the country,” said Michael Oshman, CEO and Founder of the Green Restaurant Association. “In education, leading by example is key, and Springside Chestnut Hill Academy is teaching important models of energy, water, and resource conservation through the environmental steps its foodservice has implemented.”

Nut- and Peanut-Free Tables

Because several students have life-threatening allergies to tree nuts/peanuts, most forms of peanuts and peanut butter have been eliminated from the cafeteria menu. Nut/peanut-free tables are maintained in both cafeterias, which are clearly identified. We ask for everyone’s cooperation in keeping these areas peanut free. With the cooperation of students, parents, and school personnel, SCH Academy can be a safe and healthy educational environment for all.
