Campaign for the Commons
We are excited to launch the Campaign for the Commons, a part of the third and final phase of our Campus Master Plan. The Commons is the central hub on campus where our students dine, study, socialize and train. This crucial space needs renovations to accommodate our growing student body and offer upgraded facilities to our students.
This area will be the heart of the Upper School campus, where students, faculty, and community members can gather to enjoy the outdoor spaces, and students can take advantage of the resources of the renovated facilities. There will be areas to study, read, eat, train, compete, perform, relax with friends, and hold meetings and events. These renovations will include repurposing existing space in the Vare Field House to create a dedicated wrestling room.
We are fully committed to successfully raising the necessary $6 million to fully fund this project. We know that the impact of this project on our community will be immediate and profound. Not only will the Commons allow for our entire upper school student body to gather, dine and socialize together, it provides our students with the fitness and wellness resources they need to achieve their athletic and wellness goals.

The campaign for the Commons plan includes:
- Enlarged interior gathering space;
- New fitness and training center in the Woodward Gym making it the largest coed fitness facility in the Inter-Ac;
- Upgraded athletic training rooms;
- Upgraded squash facilities;
- Expanded dining hall seating;
- Improved locker rooms; and
- Redesigned exterior courtyard and student space.
WIth thanks to the vision and leadership of a great Board, great administration, and loyal volunteers over the past ten years, our campus has truly come to life. The beautiful playing fields, walking paths, and incredible new lower school have given physical representation to this new era of a merged SCH and in many ways helped solidify who we are and what is important to us: our students. [...] The new Commons and Rec, in my mind, represent the last piece of the puzzle in terms of bringing the two schools together as one, creating spaces and access for girls and boys to pursue their interests and dreams and fully experience their school in beautiful new spaces that are fully theirs and where they are fully welcome.
