HORIZONS GIVING DAY | Gifts count through may

give through May 31, 2024

At Horizons at SCH, we believe every child deserves access to enriching summer learning experiences regardless of their circumstances. But we can't do it alone. That's where YOU come in! Horizons at SCH met and SURPASSED its $40,000 goal for Horizons Giving Day! If you gave on Horizons Giving Day, thank you. In case you missed it, you have until May 31 to have it count toward our goal (click the "Give" button below).

By joining us, you're not just making a donation. You're lighting the path for 60 eager young minds, empowering them to thrive and excel. Your support isn't just a one-time gesture; it's an investment in the future of our community. Together, we're not just changing lives; we're building a legacy of opportunity and growth that will last for years to come.

about horizons

Horizons at SCH offers a high-quality, hands-on learning experience outside of the traditional school year to support academic achievement and healthy youth development. Now in its fourth year, the program serves over 60 rising first, second, third, and fourth-grade students. Horizons students experience a full day of learning opportunities, including literacy, math, STEM, and enrichment activities such as field trips, hiking, and instructional swimming. Students also receive breakfast, lunch, and snacks at no cost.

The Henry H. Houston Elementary School in Mt. Airy and Springside Chestnut Hill Academy established a partnership in the summer of 2021 to bring a branch of the nationally recognized Horizons program to the SCH campus.

Established in 1964, Horizons is a national network of 60+ tuition-free summer programs that deliver high-quality academic and enrichment support for students from under-resourced communities. Students begin Horizons the summer after Kindergarten and return each summer through 8th Grade.
