SCHout Conference: 2024
9th ANNUAL DIVERSITY conference
"Road trip: Journey through understanding"
On Saturday, February 3, SCH welcomed 150+ high school and mature eighth grade students from dozens of schools who attended our 9th annual SCHout Diversity Conference.
Students heard keynote speeches by our DEI Council (SCH seniors), participated in a story exchange designed to cultivate radical empathy, and engaged in meaningful dialogue throughout the day in a series of social action workshops. Over 40 SCH students served as facilitators, led workshops, and organized this all inclusive annual event. We look forward to celebrating our 10th anniversary of this event, created in 2015, with alumni, students, faculty, and all who wish to participate.

Topic: "Pressure to Change Your School: Coping with Burnout and Fatigue" | Faculty and Staff Professional Development
Description: Corrien dove into an exhilarating educational leadership workshop that focused on coping with burnout and fatigue amidst the pressure to change your school. Key points included exploring effective strategies for managing others, especially as a teacher and DEI leader in an ever-evolving educational landscape. We learned when it's okay to say no and prioritize your well-being to thrive and lead purposefully. This workshop provided practical solutions to tackle these challenges head-on and empowered us with the tools to navigate the demands of educational leadership with enthusiasm and resilience. We were inspired and now equipped to make a positive impact in our school communities!
