ABOUT THE TEAM
The goal of the SCH Tennis program is to compete for an Inter-Ac Championship while exhibiting an extraordinary level of integrity, class, mental toughness, and moral character. Together as a team, we will build a program and culture we can be proud of and leave a legacy for future Blue Devils.
As a member of the SCH tennis program, student-athletes can expect to work hard in practice and balance their academic and athletic workload. Tennis team members will combine focused practice with individualized/team instruction, cardiovascular and strength training, and individualized goal setting to put each player in the best position for success.
As a program, we also understand the importance of individualized goal setting, both on and off the court. This may include consideration of possible collegiate competition and choosing the best college or university. Whether your goal is to pursue a collegiate athletics opportunity or not, our coaches will work closely with the school to ensure each student-athlete and their family has the best possible information to make informed decisions. The tennis program is a family that is invested in the success of our team members, both during their time here and after graduation.
Coach Andrew Silverman joined the boys tennis program as an assistant coach in 2020, and he took over the helm of the program in the spring of 2023. Silverman has also joined SCH as a full-time faculty member, teaching physical education in the Lower and Middle Schools. He has coached both mens and womens tennis at the collegiate level and was a three-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II East Region Assistant Coach of the Year during his tenure at Chestnut Hill College.
