ABOUT THE TEAM
Springside Chestnut Hill Academy’s baseball program has a longstanding tradition of putting a competitive and well-coached team on the field each spring. The team recently won the Inter-Ac title in 2019 and shared the title in 2016.
The team is part of the historic Inter-Ac league, which is considered to be the most competitive in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The Blue Devils play on Pearson Field, which is recognized as one of the premier fields in Philadelphia.
Aside from gaining a complete understanding of baseball, team members develop a sense of teamwork, responsibility, and commitment. Expectations for players include quality academic performance, physical development, and being respectful of officials, their opponents, and most importantly, of the game. Each year, players from the SCH baseball program move on to play at quality colleges with successful programs such as the University of Maryland, Princeton University, and the University of Richmond. In addition to numerous players competing at the NCAA level, SCH has had several players who have gone on to professional baseball careers.
Coach Joe Ishikawa has led the Blue Devils since 2014 and has five respected, experienced, and knowledgeable assistants on his staff.
