The girls’ indoor track and field program is packed with talent. DVGTCA meets typically take place on Friday evenings at Lehigh or Alvernia University’s indoor facilities. Additionally, the team travels to meets held at The Armory as well as Ocean Breeze Complex in NYC for competition against girls from public, private, and parochial schools in the mid-Atlantic area. Each DVGTCA meet is an opportunity for the girls to qualify for the Meet of Champs—the final meet before States.

Each year, the state championship meet is held at Penn State. The Blue Devils have taken at least one member from our indoor team to the state meet ever since we entered the program, and are champions in the 400m, 200m, and 4x400m relay.

Many of our athletes have continued to run at the collegiate level at schools such as the University of Arkansas, the University of Tennessee, Cornell University, and Towson University. After a stellar college career, former Springside track standout Taylor Ellis-Watson Washington ‘11 went on to represent the USA at the 2016 Olympics, winning a gold medal in the 4 x 400m relay.
