ABOUT THE TEAM

The boys basketball program at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy is led by head coach Julian McFadden ’06, alongside a talented coaching staff that includes Jake Webster ’19, Quantel Howard, Mike Brown ’00, Frank Jackson '14, and Frank Sobolewski. McFadden, in his ninth season as head coach, is an SCH alumnus and a graduate of Chestnut Hill College. A former high school and college standout who scored over 1,000 career points, McFadden transitioned to coaching at Chestnut Hill College before taking the helm at SCH. Under his leadership, the Blue Devils have experienced a remarkable turnaround, highlighted by consecutive PAISAA postseason victories in 2022 and 2023, the program's first in over a decade.

The SCH basketball program is committed to helping student-athletes succeed both on and off the court. Coach McFadden’s guidance has helped produce numerous players who have gone on to compete at the collegiate level across Division I, II, and III, including:

  • Zyon Grant '19 (Albright/University of Mary Washington)
  • Dave Robinson '20 (Holy Family University/Goldey-Beacom College)
  • Darius Isaac '22 (Arcadia University)
  • Al Amadou '23 (Marquette University)
  • Jaren Morton '23 (Virginia Military Institute)
  • Ron Brown '24 (Millersville University)
  • Cam Burns '24 (Chestnut Hill College)
  • Ryan Kull '24 (University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg)
  • Keni Williams '25 (East Stroudsburg University)

Competing in the highly competitive Inter-Ac League and facing top programs from across the Northeast each season, the Blue Devils continue to uphold a legacy of excellence. As a program, we emphasize hard work, good sportsmanship, and the importance of representing the SCH community with integrity on and off the court. Through dedication and teamwork, we build a supportive, cohesive family that strives for success in every aspect of student-athlete development.
