ABOUT THE TEAM

The boys basketball program at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy is led by head coach Julian McFadden '06 and his dynamic group of assistants, including Sandy Tanner, Jake Webster '19, Mike Campbell, Quantel Howard, and Mike Kehoe. McFadden, who is in his seventh season as the head coach of the Blue Devils, is an alumnus of SCH and Chestnut Hill College. He scored over 1,000 points in his high school and college career before transitioning into coaching at his collegiate alma mater as an assistant coach. Under McFadden's guidance, the SCH program has undergone a significant turnaround, including a 2022 win in the PAISAA postseason, the school's first in over a decade. McFadden and the rest of the coaching staff bring a high level of experience, knowledge, and insight to the program.

As a program, we understand the importance of helping these student-athletes work hard to realize on and off-court goals, including inter-collegiate competition and beyond. In recent years, the program has produced several college basketball players, including Zyon Grant '19, Dave Robinson '20, and Darius Isaac '22. In addition to these recent graduates, the Class of 2023 features Al Amadou, who has committed to continuing his student-athlete journey at Marquette University.

Recognized for its long-standing commitment to excellence, the team competes at the highest level locally within the Inter-Ac League. In addition, the team plays over 15 non-league games annually against other top institutions in the Northeast. As a program, we strive to build a robust, cohesive, and dedicated family that values hard work and good sportsmanship and represents the SCH community positively in all aspects.
