Middle School for Girls New Media

technical proficiency

Through our Middle School New Media courses, girls develop the skills of problem solving, creative thinking, computational thinking, critical thinking, self- and peer review, technical proficiency, and resiliency while learning in challenging and collaborative student-centered environments. New Media coding courses begin with Scratch and progress to high school, college, and professionally used programming tools designed to help students learn the core concepts of computer programming. Filmmaking courses build foundational skills in working with video and camera equipment and editing with iMovie. Working with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, students expand their understanding of digital drawing and imaging processes while becoming familiar and proficient with some of the tools of each.
