Alumni

Alumni Award Winners

Each year at Reunions, the school honors the service and outstanding contributions of those in the SCH community and our most esteemed alumni. Two induction ceremonies, one for the alumni of Chestnut Hill Academy and one for Springside School alumnae, are typically held over Reunion Weekend and are hosted by the respective Alumni/ae Offices. Honorary degrees are also conferred at this time, to teachers of 15 years or more tenure.

CHA Alumni Awards

Alumnus of the Year Award
The Alumnus of the Year Award, intended to be given annually, is awarded to an alumnus for outstanding service to the association or to CHA. While not restricted to contributions made during the year in which it is given, that was its original intent, with exceptions made on occasion to recognize service and contributions to the school over a period of time.

The Francis P. Steel Jr. ’77 Award
Formerly known as the Special Recognition Award, the Steel Award, named for former Head of School Frank Steel, honors an alumnus who, over the course of many years, has made unique contributions and shown an outstanding and extraordinary devotion to the school.

The Chestnut Hilll Academy Roll of Fame
First awarded in 1962, the Roll of Fame recognizes CHA alumni who have made significant contributions to society. In choosing members of the Roll of Fame, the Alumni Association weighs a candidate’s respect among his peers, where he is considered an expert in his field, and whether his work has had an effect that reaches beyond the bounds of a single community.
