Affording SCH

~ SCH Parent

I never realized that an SCH education would be affordable. But it’s clear that the school is committed to helping all families.

Affording SCH

A Springside Chestnut Hill Academy education is an investment in your child’s future. We understand the significant commitment each family makes to ensure their son or daughter receives a quality college preparatory education. At SCH, we believe that embracing a diverse, inclusive community is fundamental to providing a rigorous, globally competitive education. SCH is committed to working with famlies to bridge the gap between what a family can afford to pay and the full cost of tuition.
Over $8.8 million in financial aid was awarded for the 2016–2017 school year to more than 40% of our students.

Making SCH possible: financial Aid

Families of students applying at any grade level are welcome to apply for financial aid and should note on your application that you would like to receive a financial aid packet.

Admission to SCH is need-blind and a completely separate process from financial aid awards. Applicants are evaluated for admission without regard to a request for aid. However, because we often admit more students that require financial aid than we are able to fund, admitted students do not always receive aid even if they qualify.
  • The amount of the aid awarded is based on guidelines provided by the School and Student Services (a division of the National Association of Independent Schools), as well as the ability of the school to meet demonstrated financial need.

  • Once awarded, financial aid will continue through the senior year, as long as need is demonstrated. Awards are revised and awarded annually and the Financial Aid Committee requires a PFS application and updated financial statement each year.

  • Financial aid information is held strictly confidential and not shared with the faculty or students.

  • All financial aid is based on need; no merit scholarships are awarded.
