Boys Basketball in great comback win over Germantown 61-56
In a packed Kingsley gym, the Blue Devils showed true grit and determination coming back from a 12 point deficit to win in the last 2 minutes 61-56. A spirited student section cheered on the Blue Devils with loud, proud, positive cheers.
Germantown came to compete and led at the start of the 2nd quarter as SCH had scored just 9 points. Halftime score was SCH 21, GA 33. However, the Blue Devils came out in the 3rd quarter a different team and would not be denied. With 1:37 left the hosts were down 52-54 but out hustled and out-scored the Patriots 9-2 to win.
Delonce Hines led the team with 19 points including being 10 for 14 at the free toss line. David Robinson put in 15 points, also leading the team with 8 rebounds. Ke'Shawn Williams scored 13 points was 6 of 7 on free throws and had 4 steals.
Jared Sprague-Lott and Darius Isaac each put in 6 points with Scott Bandura adding 2. Ivan Thrope, Bobby Marke, and Luke Neverosky all put in valuable minutes and play to seal the win.
In a milestone, David Robinson was recognized before the game for scoring his 1,000 point in his high school career. David reached this level at a game over Winter Vacation. Congratulations David, well done!
