In their home opener, the Blue Devils defeated a tough Father Judge team 36-24
Aaron Rascoe rushed for 123 yards on 17 carries and 3 touchdowns to help SCH to an opening non-conference win over Father Judge 36-24. Ke'Shawn Williams rushed 3 times for 31 yards, CJ Lynch 4 for 25 while AJ Graham ran 3 times for 19 yards. In all the Blue Devils ran for 198 yards on 27 attempts.
In the air, AJ Graham was 8 for 15 for 121 yards. Ivan Thorpe caught 3 for 52 yards, Williams caught 2 for 19 while Rascoe, Jack Gentile and Bobby Markey all caught one ball. Wiliams ran back two punts for touchdowns totalling 116 yards.
On defense, Nick Shragher and Luke Percy led the defense with 6 tackles each while Carnell Kemp recorded 5. Gentile and RJ Moore made 4 tackles with Moore, TJ Spirito, and Tristan Holmbeck credited with 1 sack each. The defense held Father Judge to 108 rushing yards.
Despite a 4:00 kick-off it was a hot day at Maguire Stadium, but the Devils struck early as Ivan Thorpe returned the opening kick-off to the FJ 11 yard line. The Devils led 23-10 at halftime. Rascoe scored his 3rd touchdown with just 1:43 left to put the Devils up 36-17, however, the Crusaders connected on a 68 yard TD pass to put the final at 36-24.
SCH will travel to Central on 9/6 for a 3:30 kick-off.
