Baseball Wins at Penn Charter in top of 7th

In dramatic fashion, the Devils, down 4-0 scored 5 runs to go ahead in the top of the 7th to win the game 5-4
On a beautiful day on Penn Charter's new turf field, the Devils came away with another Inter-Ac win. PC scored 3 in the 3rd and one more in the 6th to go up 4-0 and looked to be coming out the winner. SCH showed true grit and resiliency as they scored 5 runs in the top of the 7th to go ahead. Josh Niebish got the win and Pat Elliott the save as the visitors threw  4 pitchers at the Quakers.

Jon Bautista started the game, pitching 2 and 2/3 innings, giving up just 1 hit but walking 4 while striking out 3. Jakob Runkel pitched 2 and 1/3 innings  allowing 2 hits and 2 walks while also striking out 3. Josh Niebish pitched 1 inning, getting the win as he gave up 2 hits with 2 walks. Pat Elliott saved the win, striking out 1 while allowing 2 hits.

Jahli Hendricks and Bautista both had big doubles with Hendricks pushing across 2 runs and Bautista 1. Cole McNeil and Brain Finn also had RBIs. Sam Aslanson. Brandon Gibbs and Elliott all hit singles. Crossing the plate were Elliott, Jared Sprague-Lott, Bautista, Gibbs, and McNeil.

Super win for the Devils who climb to 5-2 in the Inter-Ac with 3 games remaining and are 11-8 overall.

JV won 12-2 and are now 15-1-1 on the season.

SCH hosts Malvern Prep on Tuesday.
