10:30-11:45 AM Professional Development: "Curating Brave Spaces" workshop with Naomi Washington-Leapheart applicable to high school educators
Springside Chestnut Hill Academy welcomes high school and mature 8th grade students from the region to our 5th annual SCHout diversity conference, during which students will hear a keynote, participate in a story exchange designed to cultivate radical empathy, and engage in meaningful dialogue throughout the day in a series of social action workshops. (See posters below.)
After the keynote, adult chaperones will have the opportunity to participate in a two-hour professional development workshop led by Naomi Washington-Leapheart, entitled "Curating Brave Spaces." During the workshop participants will employ case studies and role plays in order to engage in discussion about best practices for creating these spaces.
