Artist Statement:

Art classes have always provided me with a space to relax, have fun, and use a different part of my brain. They’ve guaranteed that I pause from the stress of life to simply focus and enjoy doing something creative. Primarily, I’m drawn to and inspired by the natural world for its innumerable amount of details.

Since I was little, I have enjoyed making art and using a camera. My creative works span a range of mediums from the general drawing and painting to printmaking to photography. While the quality of materials has changed over the years, the overall techniques have remained the same. I have gone from drawing with a standard Number 2 pencil to a variety of pencil types, from carving a soft block of rubber to a tough woodblock, and from a simple Kodak disposable to a Nikon digital. The quality of one’s work isn’t reliant on the materials used, rather I have grown into the skills to use more sophisticated materials.
