Artist Statement:

Ceramics gives me a chance to take a break from everything that is on my mind. Whether I am stressed out from all the work I have, or nervous for a big soccer game after school, ceramics often calms me down and alleviates stress. As someone who is often stressed about even the smallest things in my life, it is good to have an activity besides soccer, a sport I play almost everyday, to escape all the stress. From the moment I put on my big crusty shirt that I use to wipe my clay covered hands on, I feel at peace. I can create anything I want with a ball of clay. The countless bowls, mugs, plates and vases I made are nobody’s but mine, and that feels good.
