Thinking about social justice with History chair Sarah McDowell

As if she hasn't had enough thinking about social justice during the school year, SCH Academy’s history department head, Sarah McDowell, spent several weeks this summer helping to teach a virtual course on social justice to 90 high school students from around the world (one of the benefits of virtual education!). The course, called Social Justice Research Academy, is one of several offered through the University of Pennsylvania’s Summer Academies program, which provides an opportunity for high school students to engage in college-level research and take advantage of Penn's resources, such as its libraries. McDowell, who serves as the course’s assistant director as well as one of its teaching fellows, was recently interviewed for an article about the course, which appeared in Penn’s Arts and Sciences online publication, OMNIA.
