Are you ready for it? The 2024 FIRST Robotics Competition kicks off, and SCH Robotics Team 1218 is ready to hit the high notes with their newly revealed robot! The aptly named "Swift" embodies the spirit of Taylor Swift's "Eras Tour," reflecting the team's past achievements and their exciting future.
For CRESCENDO, robots will use ring-shaped “notes” to score. A robot must either place a note in the amp or shoot it into a speaker. In the competition’s “endgame”—the final 20 seconds of the match—the robots attempt to climb a chain, called the “stage,” and score into a “trap,” a small opening for notes. After a robot has climbed the stage, a human player tosses a note like a frisbee onto the stage to spotlight a robot and gain extra points. Swift’s goal is to score multiple notes in the autonomous period, intake from the ground, and automatically correct the angle to shoot into both the speaker and the amp. Swift is also able to climb the stage during the last 20 seconds of the match by quickly pulling up onto the chain.
We can't wait to see Swift rock the competition!
