Summer Sizzles: Ms. Guy's Entrepreneurial Spirit, Energy, and Education

For this week’s Summer Sizzles, we feature Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Rayna Guy, who likes to take on multiple projects at the same time, even in the summer!

Ms. Guy entered the University of Pennsylvania’s Executive Program in Social Impact Strategy in January of this year has been collaborating with classmates from around the world to discuss issues of equity and social justice.

Shortly after getting married in May, Ms. Guy began her Capstone project for the SIS at UPenn. Through the program, she’s grown her business, “Big Hoop Energy,” an organization that combats inequities and barriers facing Black women entrepreneurs by offering resources to grow and sustain their own businesses. The organization raises money for various causes as well and has begun mentoring Black girls in Philadelphia and surrounding areas. While at Penn, Ms. Guy also launched “Big Hoop Boutique”, the for-profit side of her social enterprise.

Phew! We're not sure if it's the amount of events and ventures or the August heat, but Ms. Guy is bringing the heat!
