This summer, students at Horizons at SCH have experienced a transformative period of growth and discovery through a diverse range of enrichment activities and field trips.
Each week, students participated in an enrichment activity, which included nutrition lessons, music classes, time in the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership maker space, and a tennis clinic in partnership with the U.S. Tennis Association. These activities were designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork. Beyond these activities, students have also had the opportunity to learn more about engineering and architecture, sparking new interests and broadening their understanding of potential career paths.
Students also had the opportunity to explore a variety of exciting destinations, such as the Smith Memorial Playground, The Franklin Institute, The Philadelphia Zoo, and The Academy of Natural Sciences. These field trips, made possible by your support, offered hands-on learning experiences that complemented our curriculum, providing our students with a deeper understanding of the world around them.
"Over the past six weeks, our students have embarked on an incredible journey of learning and growth," said Kenyatta Patterson, Horizons at SCH director. "Thanks to our supporters, we were able to provide activities and experiences that broadened their horizons and ignited their passion for learning."
