Squash “Wall of Remembrance” dedicated

Members of the school squash community—past and present—came together this week to dedicate a wall of remembrance honoring members of the CHA, SS, and SCH squash community who have passed away. The seven framed tributes are displayed in the lobby of the McCausland Squash Courts/Philadelphia Squash Club.

Memorial tributes include five alumni—Jordie Maine ’79, Johanna Sigmund ’94, Mike Masland ’91, Nick Schreiber ’12, and John Manly-Power ’78—and two SCH parents, Jack Kelly and Dave Schreffler.

Reflections at the event captured players’  tenacity, sportsmanship, competitive spirit, and enthusiastic love of the game and the school. The wall of remembrance will serve as an inspiration and reminder of the millions of ways they live on in all of us.

Springside Chestnut Hill Academy has long been recognized as a leader in high school squash programs, producing ranked players that go on to have distinguished college and even professional squash careers. The school currently has more than 15 students playing on Ivy League, NESCAC, and/or Division I collegiate teams.
