Six Seniors Receive Recognition from National Merit Scholarship Program

SCH is proud to announce the outstanding performance of six of its seniors in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program, with one student named a Semifinalist and five others receiving Letters of Commendation. The students are recognized for their exceptional academic promise based on their high scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

Lewa White was named a National Merit Semifinalist, placing her among the nation's highest-scoring high school students. Semifinalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. White now has the opportunity to advance to Finalist standing and compete for some 6,870 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million to be offered in the spring of 2026.

Five other SCH Academy students were recognized with a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Program. These students placed among the top two-thirds of the approximately 50,000 high scorers who entered the competition and are eligible for Special Scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses.

The recognized students are: Alec Gupte, Aaron Jia, Eloise Levin, Judah Meyer, and Lauren Wilson.

About the Program
The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. Approximately 1.5 million high school students enter the program each year by taking the PSAT/NMSQT.
