Seven SCH Seniors Recognized by National Merit Scholarship Corporation

Seven academically talented SCH seniors have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) this year after having taken the 2022 PSAT. They are Shaun Gupte, a Semifinalist, and Commended Students Hudson Barry, Karina Chan-van der Helm, Ward Dobeck, Arjun Goswami, Cameron Harrop, and Andrew Mahony.

Gupte is one of 16,000 Semifinalists who will have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,140 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million that will be offered next spring. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists represents less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors and includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2024 competition.

"We are proud to have such a strong cohort of students who have demonstrated their academic success on a national level and who are also leaders throughout the school," says Brian Walter, director of College Counseling.
