Thirty-three SCH students demonstrated their scientific prowess at the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) state meeting held at the main campus of The Pennsylvania State University in University Park this past week. Of the impressive contingent of 33 SCH students, 13 were honored with First Awards at the state level, a testament to their exceptional projects and presentations. All participating students had previously earned First Awards at the regional competition in February. PJAS is “a statewide organization of junior and senior high school students designed to stimulate and promote interest in science among its members through the development of research projects and investigations.”
The remaining students also received commendable recognition, earning Second or Third Awards for their efforts. The success of these young scientists highlights the strong foundation in STEM education fostered at SCH!
Winning First Awards were 9th graders: Ben Barsotti, Rai Brown, Soleil Bynum, Anna Gauvin, Charlotte Harris, Jordan Jackson, Adam Lane, Veronica Vinovich, and Benje Whitman; and 10th graders: Callan Curry, Jude Hackford, Emma Hannigan, and Claire Lynch.
