Four SCH students have received nine 2025 regional Scholastic Art Awards, the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens, presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. This year, SCH students earned nine prestigious Scholastic Art Awards in Drawing & Illustration, Painting, and Photography. Winning a Scholastic Art Award not only provides both local and national recognition but also opens doors for students to further their artistic pursuits in a supportive environment. The SCH students chosen for their art were:

"We are incredibly proud of these exceptional student artists," says Megan Monaghan, director of Arts at SCH. "It’s an honor to see their creativity and immense talent recognized with nine prestigious Scholastic Art Awards on the national stage. I am equally proud of our arts faculty, whose guidance and support have played a crucial role in fostering their creative journeys. We look forward to watching these artists continue to grow and flourish."
According to Scholastic, each year jurors look for works that exemplify the Awards’ core values: originality, skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. All entries are first considered regionally for Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mention awards. Entries that win a Gold Key are automatically considered for National Awards, including Gold Medal, Silver Medal, and scholarship awards.
