SCH Teachers Selected by College Board as AP Readers

Five SCH Academy faculty members were selected by the College Board to serve as Advanced Placement (AP) readers this June, joining an elite group of educators from across the nation to score thousands of student exams.

The selected teachers represent a diverse range of academic disciplines:

• Derrick Keister (AP Calculus)
• Nancy Craft (AP Statistics)
• Stephanie Kasten (AP French)
• Alissa Sperling (AP Physics C: Mechanics)
• Ellen Kruger (AP Physics C: Mechanics)

The annual AP Reading brings together college professors and experienced high school teachers to evaluate and score the free-response sections of AP exams. This rigorous process ensures standardized, fair grading for millions of students worldwide.

Beyond grading, the act serves as an important professional development opportunity. Participants collaborate with peers, share best practices, and gain deep, firsthand insights into exam standards—knowledge that directly benefits SCH students in the classroom.

SCH remains deeply committed to its AP program, continuously finding ways to better prepare students for the rigors of college-level work.
