Competing against the best 11th and 12th-grade science students in the city of Philadelphia, 13 SCH Biology students received honors and medals at Philadelphia's 45th annual George Washington Carver Science Fair in March. Students’ research posters and presentations in front of scientist judges earned them 1st-place medals in 9 of the 11 categories that SCH entered, and a special award presented by the Eastern Pennsylvania Branch of the American Society of Microbiology, which came with a $100 prize.
The competition is sponsored by Temple University, and students who earned 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place medals are now eligible for the regional Delaware Valley Science Fair, competing against the best students from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
Congratulations to our SCH scientists! For a complete list of award winners and their research projects, see the full story here.
