SCH Proud: Nia Hodges ‘22

Senior Nia Hodges was tapped to contribute to the Winter 2021 issue of Wissahickon Magazine, published in December by the Chestnut Hill Local.  Her reflective essay, “Navigating the Waters of Life, the Pandemic, and Senior Year,” creatively touches on the paradoxes of our lives from the vantage point of a young woman poised at a crossroad. “As I set sail towards this next chapter of my life as a student and as a person, I move through the waters with an undetachable anchor to the past—I will always be defined by the people who raised me, the experiences that shaped me, and the moments which I will cherish forever.”

Upon receipt of Nia’s essay, the magazine’s editor, April Lisante, wrote, “I am floored at the talent of such a bright young person!”

Nia has received early decision admittance to Brown University and is excited to pursue her writing and passion for psychology in Providence, RI, next year.
