SCH Moves Toward Completion of Campus Master Plan

With Restore the Rec underway, SCH Academy continues its momentum toward completing the Campus Master Plan through The Campaign for the Commons—the third and final phase of this visionary initiative.

The Commons serves as the central hub of campus life, where students dine, study, socialize, and train. To accommodate SCH’s growing student body and to provide modernized facilities, renovations will enhance this essential space for generations to come.

The updated Commons will include:

  • A reimagined quad, including an outdoor gathering area with shaded seating, natural landscaping, an amphitheater, and social spaces,
  • Dedicated locker areas, training rooms, and team spaces ensure that our athletes receive the best sports medicine care and resources to perform and recover at their highest level,
  • And the historic restoration and modernization of the south-facing entrance of the Wissahickon Inn.

This redesigned area will be the heart of the Upper School campus—a place where students, faculty, and community members can gather to learn, train, perform, and connect.

We are deeply grateful to Campaign for the Commons Co-Chairs Jess Hayne P’26, P’28, P’29, P’31, P’33 and Edward J. McDevitt III ’93, P’24, P’26, for their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to raising the $8 million needed to fully fund this project. The impact of their leadership—and the generosity of our community—will be immediate and profound.

To support this effort, the SCH Parents Association will host its annual fundraiser, “Down and Derby,” at the Germantown Cricket Club. Please reach out to Maggie Boozer Mutch if you are interested in donating to support The Commons project.
