Earlier this week, SCH’s faculty and staff participated in a professional development session led by renowned behavior analyst Dr. Jessica Minahan. The workshop focused on practical strategies to reduce anxiety and support students with diverse learning profiles. Empowering educators with these tools is part of the school’s commitment to a diverse, inclusive, and sustainable teaching, learning, and working environment.
Recognizing the increasing prevalence of anxiety among students, the session equipped educators with evidence-based techniques to foster positive mental health. Drawing on her extensive experience working with students with complex mental health needs, Dr. Minahan shared practical tips and real-world examples to help educators implement these strategies effectively.
“This was a valuable opportunity for our faculty members to learn new skills and strengthen their ability to support students’ emotional and academic well-being,” said Lauren Webb, Upper School psychologist. “By focusing on practical, evidence-based strategies, we can create a more positive and productive learning environment for all students.”
