SCH Chess on the Beach!

SCH chess team members Shervin Medizad, Ryan Medizad, Elliot Bergmann, and Kellan Colby played seven games in the Atlantic City Open US Chess Tournament in Atlantic City, April 2-5. All achieved upsets against strong players; Elliot, Shervin, and Ryan played in the challenging under-1400 section, and Kellan played in the elite under-2000 division, where he obtained an international rating. All had a blast in their preparation for the SCH chess team’s national tournaments coming up in May at the National Elementary K-6 Baltimore and National Middle School K-8 Championships.
