On February 2, SCH celebrated National Girls & Women in Sports Day (#NGWSD) which is also the 50th anniversary of Title IX. We saluted all our female athletes past and present! The day's celebrations included a morning greeting from senior captains at the Lower and Middle School loop, and three assemblies with special guests: Rachael Becker DeCecco, Director of Lacrosse Product at Premier Lacrosse League, Emery Maine Greenwood ‘06, Taylor Washington ‘11, Mikaela Watson ‘16, Mo’ne Davis ‘19, Lilly Soroko ‘18, and Shannon McNally ‘20, as well, as SCH current senior female captains. The day finished with a varsity girls basketball game, where SCH Blue Devils handed out bracelets to all the fans that came out to support our team and women in sports.
Throughout the day, SCH ran an Instagram Stories campaign submitted by our student-athletes and alumnae with quotes and images on why athletics matters and inspires them.
