Incoming Seniors Named Finalists in the Delaware Valley Science Council Awards Program

Congratulations to Edward Gu and Ainsley Rexford, both class of 2021, on being named finalists in the 73rd Annual Delaware Valley Science Council Awards Program! They competed against hundreds of the top science students in the Delaware Valley.

The Delaware Valley Science Council (DVSC) encourages students in our region to study and pursue careers in STEM disciplines. The DVSC partners with schools, businesses, professional societies, and community volunteers to identify, encourage, and recognize talented youth in the Delaware Valley with outstanding capabilities in STEM disciplines. Our primary program is a competition targeting high school juniors with an interest in science and math or STEM.

Nominated students from area schools complete and submit an application questionnaire describing their science interests, activities and experiences. These applications are reviewed and evaluated by professional members of the DVSC. Finalists are chosen to be interviewed by teams of area scientists. Combined interview results are used to allocate cash awards to be used specifically in furthering their science education.

Best of luck with your upcoming interviews, Ed and Ainsley!
