Four SCHers Win Scholastic Art Awards

Four SCHers won prestigious Scholastic Art Awards for their artwork. Two students won Gold Key awards, the highest honor, including Matt Rizzo '24 (pictured above) who won two. Rizzo's Upper School art teacher Dan Brewer says, "It has been fascinating and inspiring to observe Matt’s creative process. I can’t wait to see what surprises lie ahead as Matt continues his creative journey.”

Baylin Manusov '25 received a Gold Key award as well as four honorable mentions. Casey Kaplan '24 and Hamilton Xie '23 each won two Silver Key awards.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards were founded in 1923 and, for nearly a century, have inspired bold ideas in creative teens throughout the country. Entries are selected for awards without knowledge of the student’s gender, age, ethnicity, or hometown by some of the foremost leaders in the visual and literary arts.
