Eighteen Middle Schoolers Participate in Junior Model UN

On Friday, February 6, 18 SCH Middle Schoolers and two faculty members headed to the Philadelphia Museum of Art for the inaugural Junior Model UN (MUN) Cultural Diplomacy Conference.

In partnership with the World Affairs Council, our students joined a cohort of over 1,000 peers from 55 schools across the region. The day combined rigorous academic inquiry with immersive art exploration:

  • Diplomacy 101: Students worked with expert Geoff Quinn to tackle big questions: What defines a culture? Which skills are essential for a diplomat? Where does diplomacy happen in the real world?
  • Art as Identity: Following the seminar, students toured the museum galleries to analyze how culture and identity are woven into art and history.

This program is a cornerstone of how SCH prepares students to navigate an interconnected world with curiosity and empathy.
