Care Club Sitter Service Returns

Care Club Sitter Service Returns

It’s back!  And, just in time for winter break. Sophomore Ellie Mellor has taken over the reins of Care Club, the babysitting service launched in the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership’s Venture Accelerator by Cameron Harrop ‘24 when he was a senior. For a modest membership fee of $5, Care Club will match requests for a babysitter with one of over 30 students who have joined the platform’s stable of sitters. Mellor’s website states, “When you join Care Club, you gain access to a network of babysitters throughout the SCH community whose sole focus is on giving your family the best possible experience and providing your children with the high-quality care they deserve. With such a large network of sitters at your fingertips, you won't ever have to cancel date night again.”

Mellor is proud to share that she has been able to place 20 families with sitters since Care Club relaunched this fall. Users of the service complete a request form with details for the request, including home location, number, and age of children, and if a driver is required. Members can expect to pay a minimum of $15/hour for a sitter, with the understanding that the fee will be at the discretion of the sitter if there are multiple children or driving is involved.

Mellor says, “Care Club is a win/win! It’s a great way for Upper School students to connect with Lower Schoolers and it’s a great resource for parents to hire someone from within the SCH community.”
