Continuing with the tradition set last year, we would like to honor the service of Richard A. Hayne with the presentation of the SCH Shield Award. This award recognizes Mr. Hayne’s commitment to inspire unbounded curiosity and independent thought while maintaining a courageous and resilient spirit with thoughtfulness and integrity.
This year's recipient of the Richard Hayne Shield Award is Caden Traversari.
Here are a few words about Caden from those that know her well:
Caden Traversari is the most deserving recipient of this distinguished award because her character and deeds wholeheartedly embody our school’s mission and values. Caden has left an everlasting footprint on the SCH community. Her kind and inclusive spirit is widely felt from students and teachers across all divisions. As a strong role-model, Caden is a lifelong learner who aspires to inspire others. She explores her passions by consistently provoking intellectual curiosity and inquiry. Not only is Caden a pillar of our community, but she has masterfully exhibited the SCH mission and values on both national and international levels. Her resiliency, courage, integrity and thoughtfulness has been showcased in every area of her academics and co-curriculars. Her quest to effect positive change is unparalleled and widespread from the award winning Intel International Science Fair to her participation in the People of Color Diversity Leadership Conference, Facilitators, Players, Student Ambassadors, Student of the Year Fundraiser Campaign for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and much more. Caden has had an unwavering commitment and dedication to fulfilling our community values and I have no doubt that she will advance her legacy well beyond our campus.
Congratulations to Caden!
