Alumni Spotlight: Caitlin Chasar ‘09

We are proud to share that SCH alumna Caitlin “Katie” Chasar, Class of 2009, was crowned Ms. Wheelchair Pennsylvania 2022 in the competition that took place this past Sunday in Johnstown, PA. Ms. Wheelchair PA is not a beauty pageant, but a competition to select someone to serve as a role model and spokesperson for people with disabilities across the state, and each contestant competes on a specific platform. Born with spina bifida, Katie is a passionate advocate for inclusivity in exercise and seeks to raise awareness for the need to have disability-inclusive recreation centers. Katie stated, “I want to educate people about the importance of an active lifestyle and having a safe place to exercise, just to improve everybody’s well-being.” Katie will now compete in the national competition for the title of Ms. Wheelchair America.
