Alumna Story Featured in Scholastic Action Magazine

For years, Ayna Banks ’26 has brought comfort to pediatric hospital patients by transforming their rooms into warmer, brighter spaces. Now, she is inspiring an even wider audience by sharing the personal story behind her mission in Scholastic Action magazine.

In the feature published this month, Banks opens up about her journey as a neuroblastoma survivor. Just two years after being declared cancer-free, she used her experience to launch the Sweet Dream Project through SCH’s Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL), providing custom comfort kits and thoughtful resources to children facing long hospital stays.

"Every time I deliver a Sweet Dream bag, I’m reminded of why I’m doing this," Banks shares in the article. "Being sick is something that millions of kids go through. If I can bring some of them a little joy, everything I’ve gone through feels worth it."

By sharing her journey so candidly, Banks is expanding her reach and showing young readers across the country how personal challenges can become hope and comfort for others.
