Earlier this month, University of Chicago student Caden Traversari ’20, received the University’s Jane Morton and Henry C. Murphy Award, which recognizes student leaders who have made exceptional and unique contributions to the University community and improved university student life.
She will be heading to Tanzania this summer on a Center for Global Health Fellowship, a 10-week internship where students get first-hand experience working in a research setting. According to the center, “The program offers a strong local mentoring infrastructure as well as longitudinal and well-defined projects that will allow students to gain practical exposure to medical and global health research.”
Traversari received the esteemed Shield Award at SCH’s graduation ceremony in 2020, which recognizes a student who embraces both the mission and values of the school with unbounded curiosity and independent thought while maintaining a courageous and resilient spirit with thoughtfulness and integrity.
As we look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our SCH students at the end of the school year, we do so knowing we are helping to launch the humans the world needs.
