A Fruitful Day for Science Teachers
Several SCH Middle and Upper School science teachers attended an afternoon training session with eCLOSE founders Alana O'Reilly P'25, P'27 and Dara Ruiz-Whalen to learn how to use fruit flies as model organisms to study cancer, diabetes, mental health, concussions, and climate change.
The eCLOSE Institute supports teachers with innovative programming, materials, and professional development, empowering them to function as scientific lead investigators in their classrooms. The training included professional laboratory research and problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and networking skills.
Stay tuned for some amazing student projects in 7th-grade science and Upper School science electives!
