We recently spoke with Rex Leininger, a committed alumnus, about his passion for giving back to SCH Academy. We asked him what makes the school truly special and why he has chosen to make it a priority in his philanthropy. Read on for his story.

The SCH faculty is full of brilliant and caring people, but what changed my life wasn’t their words—it was how faithfully they lived them. I grew up in an unstable household. Trust didn’t come easily. At SCH, I found adults who showed up, kept their promises, and built a classroom where I could feel safe enough to learn, try, and fail forward. Their reliability became my anchor.

Because of that steady presence, I discovered who I could be. I learned to ask for help, to lead, and to lift others the way my teachers lifted me. That kind of transformation isn’t accidental—it’s built, day by day, by people who care and by donors who make their work possible.
