For Heather and Stewart Greenleaf, parents of two Upper Schoolers who have been at SCH since Kindergarten, the experience at SCH goes far beyond the classroom. Stewart, a Class of 1996 alumnus and former rower, recently relived his days on the water, rowing in a double with his daughter on the Schuylkill River. This powerful moment is a perfect illustration of the "extras" the Greenleaf family values so highly—and generously supports. We spoke with Heather and Stewart about their giving to SCH, and here’s what they had to say:

What inspired you to give?
We were inspired to give to The SCH Fund by the wonderful experiences our children and we have had at SCH over the past 14 years. Of course, SCH excels at academics and offers top-tier athletics, but it is the “extras” that really make SCH a special place. Senior buddies, Outward Bound, the character of the Wissahickon Inn, Blue & Blue/Blue & Gold Day, hikes in the Wissahickon, accomplished alumni returning to inspire, and countless informational and social gatherings for parents, make time at SCH such an enriching experience.

What impact do you hope your gift will have on students and the school?
We hope our gifts will help support those “extras” so that students will continue to experience the special community that SCH has become.

What would you say to someone who is considering becoming a donor?
Every contribution helps. It doesn’t have to be monumental, and it doesn’t have to break the bank. If you value what SCH has done for your child, or for you as an alumnus, contribute what you can to help keep this special community going.
