Glenna & Matt Stone P’27, P’29

As parents of both a son and a daughter at SCH, Glenna and Matt Stone P’27, P’29 have had a front-row seat to the school’s evolution. From the early days of Pre-K to the rigors of Upper School, they have watched SCH prioritize innovation and individualized care. For the Stones, supporting The SCH Fund isn’t just a thank you for their children’s education—it’s a way to fuel the school’s constant "spirit of progress" and ensure the campus resources remain as dynamic as the students themselves. Read on:

What inspired you to support SCH through The SCH Fund?
We’ve watched our kids grow up at SCH, starting in Pre-K and Kindergarten and now moving confidently through high school. Over the years, we’ve seen the school stay committed to progress, innovation, and a strong sense of community. Supporting The SCH Fund is our way of helping to keep that momentum going so future students can experience the same care and opportunity our kids have enjoyed.

Was there a particular moment or experience that sparked your decision to give?
There wasn’t one single moment. It has been more of a steady realization as our kids have moved from Lower School to Middle School and now Upper School. Having both a boy and a girl at SCH has given us two unique journeys to watch, and in each case, the school has met them right where they are and pushed them further. Along the way, we’ve been continually impressed by the quality of the education and the thoughtful way SCH prepares its students for what comes next. For every child to be met with the same level of care on their own path, the school needs a wide range of strong resources to draw from, which is why we choose to give.

What impact do you hope your gift will have on students and the school?
We hope our gift helps the school continue to offer experiences that stretch students intellectually, creatively, and personally. SCH has never been content to stand still, and we want to help fuel that spirit so every student has access to the best resources, learning spaces, and opportunities.

What would you say to someone who is considering becoming a donor?
Supporting SCH is really an investment in kids and in the future. You feel the impact of your gift every time you see students taking advantage of programs that simply wouldn’t exist without the generosity of the community. Even a small contribution makes a difference.

Do you have a favorite quote or piece of advice that inspires you?
“One generation plants the trees, another gets the shade.” It reminds us that giving back is about helping to create something lasting for the students who come after ours.
