SCH Announces New Squash Program Director

SCH is pleased to announce that Moustafa Bayoumy has been hired to lead the SCH squash program as director, beginning July 1. Moustafa, also known as “Moose,” was born and raised in Egypt, began playing squash at 7, and represented his country for over seven years as a youth player. The hiring of Moose is the result of a thorough national search that involved a review of a number of highly qualified candidates by a search committee composed of key stakeholders in the SCH community.

Some of Moose's accomplishments as a highly competitive player include:

  • French Open Champion under 17
  • Dutch Open Champion under 19
  • German Open Champion under 17
  • Runner-up British open Championship under 17

Moose received a scholarship to play at St. Lawrence University where he was named All-American four times and helped his team finish in the top four at the College Squash Association (CSA) championships all four years. After graduating, he served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the University of Virginia Men’s and Women’s Squash team before landing in Philadelphia where he has been coaching elite, internationally ranked players. The players Moose coaches include Philadelphia's own Olivia Fiechter who is ranked #11 in the world. He holds Level I and Level II U.S. Squash Coaching Certifications.

Moose is already familiar with many of our players having served as a volunteer coach for the girls and boys teams the past two seasons.

During the selection process, Moose distinguished himself with his focus on both team and player growth: “My goal is to create a team culture where individuals find a sense of belonging and community in a safe space while performing at a high level." And throughout our conversations, Moose demonstrated a commitment to encouraging students to strive to be the best version of themselves interpersonally, relationally, athletically, and academically.

We are pleased to officially welcome Moustafa to the SCH squash family and look forward to the growth and excellence he will bring to our outstanding program.

Our thanks go to the members of the squash search committee for their invaluable support in our process.
