Athletic Spring Break Highlights

Record-Breaking Highlights:

  • Softball Head Coach, Steph Mill had her 200th career win with the SCH Softball team down in Orlando, FL. 

  • CeCe Reilly ‘22 scored her 100th career goal for SCH Girls Lacrosse

  • Lucy Pearson ‘22 recorded her 200th career save as SCH Girls’ Lacrosse goalie.

  • Simone Kelly ‘23 had a Personal Record (PR) in the 800-meter with a time of 2:33. 

Overall Highlights:

  • Boys’ Track at the Plymouth Whitemarsh Track Classic

    • Henry Brandstadter ‘22 won first place in both the Long and High Jumps

    • Darrion Rascoe ‘23 won first place in Discus

  • Girls’ Track at the Plymouth Whitemarsh Track Classic

    • Jasmine Matthews ‘23 won first place in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 47.33

  • Crew—Flick #3

    • Boys’ Lightweight Varsity Quad: Luca Belmonte, Matt Leon-Palfrey, Eli Eckert, and Sammy Meyer took first place in a field of 5 crews (with a 6+ second lead). 

    • Boys’ Varsity Quad: Charlie Miles, Jude Halfpenny, Jack Stephenson, AJ Topping placed 2nd across 3 flights of 14 crews (only 1.7 seconds behind first!). 

    • Girls’ Varsity Quad: Gaby Leon-Palfrey, Sam Simon, Ashley Keough, and Kaia McTigue were 2nd out of 5 crews and improved their time from the 1st Flick by 11 seconds! They are looking to beat league rival AIS this Sunday in the 3rd Flick! 

  • Varsity Softball in Florida

    • Played 4 games, winning two. 

    • Hitting was led by Kama Bode, who went 5 for 6 with 4 runs scored and Sam Klug was 5 for 7 and struck out 15 from the mound.

  • Varsity Baseball in Florida

    • Played 5 games in FL, winning all but one. Back at home, the Devils earned a W vs Newman-Goretti on Saturday, 8-3. JV also had a great week in Florida and played well.

    • SCH pitched two no-hitter games (by Jakob Runkel and Ha’oa Bode), against Cedar Creek and Lawrence Academy. Top player highlights:

      • Sean Finn: 6 hits, 6 RBIs, 1 stolen base, 1 run

      • Darius Issac: 9 hits, 6 RBIs, 2 stolen bases, 2 runs. 

      • Jake Keaser: 4 hits, 8 runs, 5 stolen bases

  • Lacrosse

    • Girls’ Lacrosse won both of their games, with two players breaking career records (see above-CeCe Reilly and Lucy Pearson)

    • Boys Lacrosse lost both games over break to two tough opponents, Hun and ANC, but started this week off with a victory over Springfield, 10-9.
