Athletes of the Week Ending November 8

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending November 8:

Liam Zelman '26 - Football - Liam saved his best performance of the season for the moment the lights were brightest in our championship game vs Malvern. His performance throughout the game and heroics in overtime were integral to our 21-20 victory. In the extra frame, Liam took our first play and burst through the line for a 10-yard touchdown. He then executed a great play fake and threw the 2-point conversion pass over a leaping defender to seal our first victory over Malvern since 1968 and the second Inter-Ac title in school history. For the game, he was 5 for 8 in passing for 135 yards and the TD/2pt conversion, and had 27 carries for 109 yards and a TD. This amazing effort also earned him 1st team All-League honors. Wishing you all the best at Holy Cross next year, Liam!

Cali Smith '27 - Soccer - Cali, a junior University of Florida commit, had two spectacular second-half “header” goals for the Devils in the PAISAA semifinal vs Episcopal last week! This was even more impressive, as the EA keeper had only conceded 2 goals all fall in league play. Cali puts forth an unreal effort in every game. She is an unselfish player, setting up her teammates for many goals this season, and her incredible skills make her a threat on every play in the box. We look forward to Cali’s leadership next season as a senior!

Owen Hackford '26 - Soccer - As the Hillers closed out their season last week with our Senior Day game against Malvern Prep, Owen was a model for the younger guys on the team, playing with unquestionable effort and a willingness to do what he had to do for the team. Midway through the season, we asked Owen to change positions for the betterment of the team, and he did so not only without question, but also with a desire to learn and grow. In turn, Owen became a player we'd rarely sub out of the game due to his energy on offense and his quality on defense. This was true again in his last game for the Hillers. We will miss him next year, and we're proud of his contributions over the last three years.

London Jackson '26 - Volleyball - During the PAISAA final, London tallied 3 kills, 1 ace, 5 digs, and 20 assists. As always, London steps into whatever role is asked of her, and this game was no different. When asked to execute the entire offense, London switched from her multi-function role and ran the offense during an incredibly tense match. Her poise, leadership, and competitiveness shone through and helped the Devils perform. She has been moving all over the court for the duration of the season, and she performs at a consistently high level every time. Good luck at Clark Atlanta University next year!

Ella Brown '26 - Tennis - For the past 4 years, Ella has held down the 2nd singles spot, while also playing several matches at 1st singles. She consistently performs in clutch situations for the team and demonstrates incredible leadership. Ella ended her SCH tennis career with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Baldwin, avenging a loss to the same player a week prior. Congratulations, Ella, and thank you for a wonderful career on the SCH courts!

Kelsey Thomas '29 - Field Hockey - Kelsey was a rockstar all season for the varsity field hockey team. She started and played every game as a freshman, and is a big impact player. Her stick skills and ability to dodge defenders were incredible, and her field awareness was incredible. Kelsey also scored 4 goals this season, and we are positive there will be many more! Keep Dreaming Crazy, Kelsey!
