Athletes of the Week Ending April 18

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending April 18:

Milla Janick '29 & Grete Anderson '29 - Crew - Milla and Grete had a fantastic 5th Flick on Sunday in the freshman/novice double category. They won their heat convincingly and were the overall winner out of 5 boats. Their hard work, putting in many miles in tough weather since February, has paid off, and they are in a great position as the team prepares for City Championships next weekend!

Asher Hawkins '27 & Matty Talbot '28 - Tennis - This duo has consistently given the varsity team quality doubles play in a very competitive #1 spot. Last week, they beat the 1st doubles team from the Inter-Ac first-place team, Haverford, in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. They are continuing to gel as a pair, and I look forward to them growing together as the season progresses. Congrats boys!

Abby Torday '27 - Lacrosse - Abby has been an all-around hustle and heart player for the varsity team this year. She is constantly working hard and coming up with huge caused turnovers and ground balls. In our past 3 games, Abby had 10 ground balls and 7 caused turnovers, along with 1 goal and 1 assist. Keep up the strong defense, Abby. We appreciate you!

Kevin Andrews '28 - Track & Field - Kevin has an outstanding attitude and work ethic. He is a pleasure to coach, consistently bringing a positive mindset and strong commitment to every practice and competition. His hard work paid off at the GA meet, where he achieved a personal record throw of 37’4”. In addition to his dedication, he demonstrates strong character by helping MS athletes learn the shot put, showing patience and a genuine willingness to support others. Well done, Kevin!

Allison Horowski '32 - Softball - In the MS varsity squad’s two games last week vs GA and AIS, Allison started and won both contests, pitching 13 total innings and striking out 35 batters (out of 39). She went 6-6 as a batter, driving in 4 RBIs, and scoring twice. Amazing work, Allison, keep up the excellent job!

Mehki Rose '30 - Track & Field - A true example of versatility, Mehki has proven himself across multiple events, capturing impressive wins in the 400m, 800m, and 1600m. As the lead-off leg of the 4x100 relay, he set the tone with a strong start that helped propel his team to a qualifying spot for Penn Relays, one of the most prestigious meets in the country. Mehki is reliable, driven, and adaptable, and embodies what it means to be a complete athlete!

Landon Ramer '30 - Baseball - Landon picked up 2 wins on the mound in 5 innings and zero hits allowed, including a 3-inning no-hitter vs. GFS in a 15-0 victory. Against NFA, he pitched 2 innings of relief in the 10-5 victory. Overall, he has pitched 10 innings, allowed only 1 hit and 2 runs, and earned 3 wins this season. Additionally, Landon is an amazing teammate who puts the team above all. We are looking forward to continuing the momentum with Landon on the hill. Keep up the great work, Landon!

Audrey Lane '30 - Lacrosse - Audrey has been a rock in between the pipes for MSG varsity lacrosse this year. In only her second season in net, her level of play has grown tremendously, and she tallied over 20 saves in a very difficult matchup against AIS last week. We have not faced another goalie this season who can defend shots as well as she can! Audrey maintains a positive attitude and is eager to learn the finer points of the most difficult position in the sport!
